About AMW Design and Drafting in Townsville

Hi, my name is Andrea Weightman. I started AMW Design and Drafting, a building design firm, full-time in June 2014 after more than 25 years’ experience in the architectural industry. I've worked for architects and a building designer, and my office is a studio-style home office.

I am a qualified and licensed building designer with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). I'm also a member of the Building Designers Association of Queensland (BDAQ). Currently, I am on the management committee as a delegate for BDAQ's Townsville Branch. BDAQ educates and promotes building designers who are members.

My passion is design and individual service to you as my client. Creating energy-efficient building designs to suit our North Queensland environments is high on my agenda.

Your build is very important to you, whether it is a commercial building, a residential home or an extension. As such, I give individualised client service.

Listening to and understanding your needs and requirements are very important to me in the design process and for your working and living satisfaction. We consider your likes and dislikes when attending to the design of your new project.

My experience is quite varied, from completing the working drawings for Mike Carney Toyota New Showroom (a beautiful building) and many other commercial and industrial projects around the city to new home designs and small residential renovations and extensions. No job is too big and no job is too small. Every project is important.

I can offer town planning services in-house, if required, and use local engineering firms and building certifiers. I can suggest local builders and obtain quotes if required.
